Hey Guys! This feature is close to my heart and resonates well with my ex-pat life in Switzerland. If you noticed the cover photo closely you will know what I am talking about… These holidays we spent a lot of time “doing up our apartment”, and a wall project with Photowall fit perfectly while doing up our dining area.
What Is Photowall?
Conceptualized by Niklas and Charlie Johansson, Photowall is a company in Skarpnäck near Stockholm, Sweden. They digitally print canvas prints, wallpapers and even customize your wallpaper if you upload a photo.
Our New Apartment
We moved into our new rented apartment in Sep’19 (read all about renting apartments in Switzerland here) and we have been in the process of setting up our place these holidays (2nd round ;))! Our walls have always had a lot of family pictures and art that we pick up when travelling, so when I was approached by Photowall I thought this was going to be a great project, also given the timing.
How Photowall Works
It’s easy but you can spend hours on the website selecting the perfect product for your need – I say that since each design is more beautiful than the previous one. My love for the city I live in made me chose its skyline – Basel Skyline.

I have to say; the shipment and delivery were quite fast and I had it delivered to my apartment within 5 days of placing an order. Now, Photowall actually sends wooden brackets with pre-drilled corners and it took me around 10 minutes tops to get the canvas in a “ready to be mounted” state. The box comes with just the right instructions and bits which makes it a fairly easy DIY!
The Final Look
And this is how our new Photowall canvas looks.

I feel like our large dining area has finally come together, my 9-year-old daughter who is very interested in art also loves it!

I hope you enjoyed this post and if you any more questions, please feel free to ask!
