Meet Our Beauty & Lifestyle Advisor, Manavi Siddhanti

Meet Our Beauty & Lifestyle Advisor, Manavi Siddhanti

Hi everyone! Welcome back to My Swiss Story: your one-stop to all things Swiss. I’m so happy to come onboard my sister’s website as an advisor. I’m so glad we did this little interview together for you to get to know me better. Let’s get started!

Question: Please tell our readers a little bit about yourself

Well, first of all, let’s address the most important connection I have to My Swiss Story. I’m founder’s, Pragati Siddhanti’s younger sister, and I’m based in New Delhi, India. I grew up in both New Delhi and Bengaluru, with my sister (and our parents) so I have spent most of my life in big and busy metropolitan cities of India. Growing up, I loved reading, and always had a penchant for writing. I never thought I’d make a career out of it, but I did. After getting a degree in English Literature and Journalism, I sought out to start work at the age of 21 as a trainee producer at India Today Network. For the next four years, I hustled (and ignored my family, my boyfriend) and became an Associate Producer. Our mom’s diagnosis in 2010 catapulted me to take life more seriously and work towards my goal of becoming a writer. Soon, I reached out to small and big magazines and worked my way up to being a Beauty and Lifestyle writer and editor. Over the past decade, I’ve bagged hundreds of bylines in over 30 magazines including Prevention, Women’s Health, Millionaire Asia, The Quint, Lifestyle Asia, DLF Emporio, Harper’s Bazaar and Brides Today amongst others. I moved to the digital medium back in 2014, by working solo on content projects and working on my blog

My Swiss Story welcomes Manavi Siddhanti as an advisor

Tell us about your current business/work.

I work as a digital content creator. I earn most of my income from client work, wherein I help clients either with strategy or with handling their social media, blogs from start to finish. Apart from this, I freelance for a few websites and keep my passion for beauty, going with my venture.

What is a day like “in your heels?”

It’s the usual: work, chores, cooking, and spending time with loved ones. I usually have to coordinate with my co-workers, reply to my clients, check their social media accounts, and send out a bunch of emails. I also have to prioritize different tasks (either clients, or blogs, or my articles) depending on what has to go out, etc. In the evening, things get much more relaxed and in quarantine, I spend every day with my husband, watching TV shows, movies or cooking.

What can the readers of My Swiss Story expect from you?

Well, I first fell in love with Switzerland in 2012, our first trip to the country with my one and only sister. But coming back to Switzerland in 2017 to visit my sister, I just fell in love with the country and all it has to offer. So, they can expect expert advice from someone who lives on the other side of the world with a soft corner for all things Swiss.

Fun facts about you

  1. Most people wake up not hungry, just groggy. Well, I wake up hungry and thirsty. I dunk a bottle of water (now ACV), get ready, and I’m ready to eat.
  2. I can’t talk or relate to people who haven’t seen FRIENDS. It’s a testament to my personality, my generation and I frankly wouldn’t be able to take it if you don’t get my jokes or banter. Could I be any clearer?
  3. I tend to do the best work late at night when it’s time to sleep.
  4. I’m terrified of dogs, yet I consume dog videos, every day.

When you’re not working, you are…?

Happy. I’m kidding. I’m watching YouTube, catching up with my family or friends, cooking, doing chores, or making lists.

If you’ve reached the end of this post, I’d like to thank you for keeping up with me!
